Must say I'm a little surprised by the make-up of the fantasy table. Thought for sure there would be a sprinkling of poker legends in there.

I have to admit that it is a surprise not having even one poker legend there but it kinda tells me that poker pros aren't that famous...For example, just look what Poker Stars did recently, Rafael Nadal deal is believed to have cost PokerStars €12 million (US$15 million) over a two-year period. Can you imagine, they hired a sport star?..That guy don't even play poker, and you can't even see him online..I'm guessing that poker pros don't inspire people good enough or they are not that popular or they are just overrated in the world of famous :/

Yeah, I suppose, but I was thinking of some of the greats that are no longer with us. Can you imagine sitting at a table with Steuy Ungar? Bet that guy would have some stories to tell.

I am not sure what the thinking was bringing that "poor little rich boy" to the site.

I mean who cares if he is there, except for the fact that he may be a fish how many new players will he bring to the site?

The $15 Million they wasted on that guy could have bought a lot of goodwill from the regular players / depositors by way of Free promotions.

Call me stupid but I reckon regulars (3 deposits or more?) on Stars would have loved the chance to play a $500 k freeroll / month for 2 years with all of the ITM players qualifying for a $3 million freeroll (to finish off the cash they wasted on the tennis player) would have gotten a lot lot more new people playing on the site.

You're stupid.

Sorry couldnt resist.

Ok seriously. The likes of Helmuth etc are not known by non poker players. Nadal is a global sports star known by probably 95% of people.

If your aim is to attract people who don't play poker to play poker who are they more likely to associate with. Someone they know, or someone they don't?

Nadal deal is about aquisition of new players. New players that don't play already. If you assume that people who play poker online or offline have either tried it and failed or already play, then the only place you can expand from to any extent which is worthwhile is people who don't play poker, but know people like Nadal......

Hope that makes sense.........
