A Tournament pays better IMO. I will explain it to you. in cash games, not home cash games, but Casino playing a Casino dealer, they will be against you from Jump Street. A Tournament they won't be, or shouldn't be, because they have been payed off at the start. you know you are playing for a payout position. in a cash game if you go broke after several hrs. of play you are broke. but in a tournament you hit payouts and have more than you started with. if you Join a Casino Tournament let's say a 200+ the house fee's and the Dealers Tip, and just 100 players Join. Top prize could be anywhere from $ 5200.00 and up and be played between 5-8 hrs. if you can make that kind of money in cash games in 5-8 hrs, then you need to quit your job and move to Vegas. you could go broke in about 4 hrs and still come home with more than you started with. 
  I do understand though, that a cash player can play about an hr or two and often double their money, but the problem is having it in you to know when to walk away. I'ts hard to walk away when you are winning, and it's hard to walk away when your down, so over all a Tournament player will make more, more often than just cash players. for that very reason alone.
