So let's say I plan to play $2 buy in games I keep my bank at $200 (100 buyins). So I play my games. At the checkpoint I put my bank back at $200. This would involve either topping up if I am loosing or withdrawing if I make profit.

Some sort of strategy so is best I find. Sometimes I vary the buyin amount like 40 buy ins. Sometimes I do it by number of games. Sometimes I list out the games I plan to play for next 3 days and only deposit buy ins for that only. Whichever one I do I try to have the checkpoints twice a week and try to have some planning on what I will play in the short term.

Even if my poker bankroll is really small I still try to keep some offsite. So let's say I only have $50 in total. I play with $30 and keep $20 offsite. This way I always have a way to start back if a bad run gets me. Starting from zero is extremely hard and frustrating. Also knowing you have a back up plan can give you piece of mind when playing to make right decision instead of playing cautious/scared looking to cash.
