Well if you just graduated from high school, I would think they might have mentioned TIME ZONES at least once in four years. If not go back cause you don't know enough yet.:p:p:p

I'm would imagine ther are a lot of people playing at work but considering how many people there are in the world I say the more the better. Hopefully they are just playing for fun and aren't taking all that seriously and I can take their money that much easier.

i just graduated high school and have the summer off so i have plenty of time to play online. in the afternoon there are thousands of people from us and canada playing poker. i would think that people are supposed to be working in the afternoon or are they playing poker at work? what do u think

Or they could be like me and have worked since they were 16 and decided to retire after all those years. I saved 10% of my money for retirement and was able to retire at 55.

You're lucky. I went to work the day after I got out of high school and never had a summer off.

You should be working ... paying your way and getting ready for college expenses ahead .... [smile]. I "paid my dues" after 43 years, plus; had not one idle summer to "play." But, then, that is your choice, as my priorities are equally my own. ... enjoy the summer. (And, by the way, employers are cracking down on non-work activities at work computers. We hear about numerous folks being fired over unauthorized use of company resources. So, not to worry ..)

I know a few people who are students that bring there laptops to class and play while class is being taught. I'm sure a lot of college students do that.

Started working while in school. Worked every summer. Only time I didn't have a job was while Iwas in the Army. I'am 70 and still own a buisness, working a few hrs. a day. enjoy playing a little poker while having a beer. Life is good.

I'm 35 and not presently working...so I definitely fall into one of those unemployed people...not so much by choice as by circumstance. I've worked in government, in the non profit sector, and was in the military for 13 years...basically i'm taking some time off to help out with a sick family member so online poker is a nice way to pass the time. Its also cheaper then driving to the nearest casino which is an hour away. Besides which...in my field not alot of employers hire during the summer because everyone is on vacation...so its a good rainy day activity for sure to pass the time.

Welcome to the new wide world. And welcome to Cardschat.

Employment worldwide takes many many shapes. Many will not have to report to some location to perform work at a specific place. Even at those places, many have jobs that are hours of boredom punctuated by short periods of intense work.

Many are retired. Many are European, where your daytime is their evenings. Aussies being (+/-) 8-10 hours different play upside down;)

Some are online poker pros.

This will continue to expand btw. As India and China join more and more into the WWW and realize that much/most of the content on the web is in English, they will gravitate more and more toward English speaking sites. This is not to knock any regional languages or dialects, but the simple truth is more folks speak English on this planet than than any other language.

Your first response will likely be BS!, what about Chinese? As I understand it, the dialects of Chinese are usually unintelligible from north to south, and east to west. English is a well ingrained language there, and in India as well.

Maybe you should go back

Not to sound like a complete A##,but how many people are in the U.S. alone? It's called night jobs, stay at-home parents(yes they still exist),retired, and of course POKER players who actually make a living at this.

Maybe there are more jobs out there than just the 9-to-5 world. I make $45k working from 6PM to 3AM, and I'm not taking a $10k pay cut to work days.

So you'll see me on the felt late at night or during "normal" business hours.
