Well, I just played in my second ladies tournament. There is a difference in play, but I don't think I would consider the overall play much worse then how men play. There were women of all skill levels, and the only reason I would consider the play worse then the average man at the same skill level is because women aren't as aggressive.

And once I read the article, the author nailed the difference between how men and women play. However, the assumption that playing more cautiously makes a better poker player isn't necessarily true. They will make more folds and last longer, but that isn't the same as making big scores.  I used that to my advantage, because some well timed aggression won me pots where my opponent had the best hand.

When I first sit down at a table, people do not assume that I will be a good player. After playing a few hands, I'm treated with the respect of a decent player. However, my opponents clearly are not aware of the plays I am capable of, they definitely don't realize how good my skill level is. And this is perfectly fine with me!!

Anyone that underestimates a female poker player is giving her an advantage, and I will always take advantage!!
