Do you like Today's coverage of the WSOP better than years back?

I also liked past coverage better, when they showed more of the events. It's a shame that they are not covering more non NLHE events. I would like to see more of these. It's cool that they are showing chip counts, and position at the table.

I'm tired of Norman Chad. Okay, you went to Maryland and have ex wives...we get it!! Get AJ Benza. I still think HSP getting rid of him was a huge mistake.

Sorry, but IMO no way is AJ Benza as good as Norman Chad.

^^^ This x100.

AJ was fine as the straight guy to Gabe, in fact I wish they'd bring him back to HSP. But he is absolutely not funny on his own, and knows less about poker than Norman does. Norman is funny all by himself. Yeah, he may overuse some punchlines but I still like him. And people give him grief about his poker knowledge, but I expect he knows quite a bit more than people are giving him credit for. He plays himself, and has been in this role for years -- no way he doesn't have enough of a grasp to be an entertaining commentator. Not like a pro obv, but most pros are not terribly entertaining as speakers/commentators. And ultimately this broadcast is about entertainment and ratings, not about the 2% of poker nerds like us who have to nitpick at everything.

He's obviously got a pretty good grasp of the game. Maybe not quite as good as someone like Gabe Kaplan, but plenty good enough and the games he commentates aren't anywhere near as complicated as the ones Gabe commentates either.

And you're absolutely right, he's there to appeal to the masses.

Hmm, I think if they filmed more of the ME it would just get boring for most people... maybe we could sit and watch hands from start to finish and be genuinely interested in who bluffed who, the changes in chipstacks, and the friendly banter... but most people are watching just to see the all ins, who's out, who's on tilt (90% Hellmuth,) and to see their favorites move on or bust. I'm sure many like Lon and Norman's commenting on hands...

I'm open to changes if they're good, I just dont see how they can make changes that everyone will be happy with.
