I learned after a lot of losses that once you get bored, don't move up to stakes you can hardly afford, just quit playing. That becomes tricky because sometimes you believe you can afford to play those stakes but you truly cant. I watched a strategy video earlier and at one point of the video Chris Ferguson said that one shouldn't buy in for a cash game that's more than 5% of their bankroll or a tournament that's more than 2% of their bankroll.
