When I first started playing online (after many years of playing live both cash and tourneys mostly cash though). I played just tournements online that was it i was a little nitty but managed to cash at a rate i was content with. I was extremely patient and did not mind playing for hours with little break in fear that when i got up I would miss the hand that could be a gamechanger. However I am not that paitient anymore dont get me wrong Im patieint enough to wait for a decent hand/position/situation to play but I like the idea of just pausing a screenfull of games and get up and do what ever i want make a sammich take the dog for a quick walk whatever and than can sit back down and leave off where I left. You dont have to play for hours on end to profit from play. Tournments there is no guarantee if you run into variance and get knocked out you are SOAL However if you have variance in ringgame just buy back in and keep going knowing that it was just that variance or a bad read and 5 mins later you can be right back where you were and making profit again.. In other words I like cash games better. Tournments are fun for me I play tournaments for fun becaus I will only play one or two games at a time , which to me is just relaxing as opposed to online cash where at times I may have a screen full although im old so I dont usually play more than about 4 at a time not like some of these whippersnappers have no desire to play that many. . I hadn/t played cash games other than live but am looking to get back into it since i was recently layed off of work. No big plans but a few extra bux . a month will help out However I will always love playing live cash and intend on doing that more than I had been. Also with a cash game live or online there is always new idiots sitting down at the table.
