Just a thought, I know poker for alot of serious players is an image thing and at times egotistic regarding making the wrong plays losing money, no one wants to be the donk or be the player who gets ridiculed for calling a horrific hand and playing the hand in a donkish way , Also most players think they are good players some of us cant or dont want to believe it (that were not as good as want to believe) or We will be missled into false sense of ability = like 'I made a really bad play but I know I shouldn't of done it' there for its ok, this in my oppinion is slightly dilusional and by knowing poker inside out is in some cases not good enough to be a great player. you have to be able to think under pressure and control your emotions and aswell as being fluent with your creativity and reactions, alot of us all have these traits and that why we believe we are great... but the bottom line is being able to do this day in day out is the only way you will ever be able to make a luxury life from poker, and oh yeah, basically what I was saying . lol. I wouldn't be surprised if their are alot of players who dont want to admit that they go broke, and could be spending excessive amounts, or basically stuck in a ruck majority of the time , for me my ultimate goal was to get rich you soon learn even being good is sometimes not enough, without the whole package including home life, routine situation - etc
