[QUOTE="LukeSilver, post: 2273799, member: 59099"] well firstly i think weather government should or should not allow people to take any sort of drug is debatable but irrelevant to my concerns, all i will say on the issue is i have several times been in areas where people have been doing substances that are not legal, one thing i noticed is these people are not in full possession of there consciousness or fully in control of there behaviour often i felt threatened and in fear for my safety, and with good cause, i would not want to live in a society where by numerous people were in that state and the fact is people been in that state put a burden on the society through threatening others in that society requiring police intervention that ultimately costs the tax payer and also building a medical bill that society will have to take of whilst also immobilising these individuals from been useful for society. of course this can be debated but I myself would rather have a society the limits people from taking substances that ultimately makes them have a negative effect on society. i think thats entirely different from a society allowing people to gamble for obvious reasons. i wouldnt want to live in a society that is a nanny state and forbids people from spending there money how they wish for entertainment purposes. these are different issues. however ultimately there are many controversial issues in the world and I am sure it would be hard to find anyone anywhere with whom there would not be some issue we passionately disagreed on this would apply to most people as well. Ultimately though its irrelevant I am not currently in a position to make much difference to any policies in the world and i assume neither are you should we reach the point where either of us is in a position to make changes to anything then the conversation may have merit. but for now my efforts are not to debate what should or shouldnt happen but more what is likely to happen and how it is likely to affect me. I am concerned that England may change its position on gambling and I am curious as to what changes may or may not come into place and how it may affect me ultimately i created this thread so that people who informed in areas i may not be could offer there input on that issue.
