Now first of all this is not a play I make all the time. It was definately situational.  If I had it to do again I would because I really think I am going to win the pot more often than not without seeing a flop.  It's these kinds of plays that seem to make me more money in the end.  When I play only big hands the other players notice and start to fold any time I'm in a hand.  But when I make a move like this they remember and are more likely to give me some action when I have my good hands.  I thought I reasoned this out pretty well.  You can't sit tight all the time. You have to be ready to gamble a little if for no other reason but to show the others at the table you play more than premium hands.  No one berates guys like Dwan and Farha for these loose kinds of plays.  I'm not saying I'm in their league, but it's the same play. It's not always the cards your holding but whose sitting at the table that decides the play. I think there are more people who could benefit from that as opposed to being told to sit tight and wait. If all I do is steal your blinds 3 out of 5 times average a session I'm still gonna come out a winning player. So you all go ahead and be patient, wait for premium holdings and I'll keep taking your blinds. It will all add up in the long run.
