The Donks are those people who do not know how to play and think they know ....
however much you play poker traditional or new poker players as they call the old players, one will always make donk bet's out of context, will never believe in your hand so the bluff with donks does not work.

The Donk always starts to play your hand or all-in or limp, rarely begins with Raise, if you have at least a couple on hand, will always call the continuation bet.

Donk is that Dude, that usually are lucky in a few hands, but always ends up falling at the beginning of any tournament.

What is your opinion about the Donks?

What is "donk". "Donk' is typically a novice who looks for his game. So, dont you think "Donk" is somewhat offensive?

Perspective please

If you were to replace "donk" with "less accomplished" you would soon realize that depending on the game, and the relative skill of the players - that person can be you.

I think donks n fish are the ones who pay for their chips and if they want to give them to me,thats great.I do lay back a little at beginning of games to try to catch betting patterns and then try to trap.I also try to vary my betting when a known donk is in pot.But all in all yes they can be very aggravating.I have folded xcellent hands to avoid them later in tournys.

Like was said above, you have to love them less experienced players, that some call donks, because they hit with ugly hands. But in the long run, they will lose calling with one small pair to the river, when they don't hit their other card or made any hand that will win the pot. Read this ok

Yeah donks are dangerous, so are fish. Both of which are chasers or coinflippers & can help you chip up on the right boards.

I hate donks!! Most of them go all in all the time with almost anything!! They make stupid and irrational bets or puts you and all in every time. Besides, they always pay re raises with crapy hands and they win! You can never know what they have.

Completely agree. If you play with regulars - win regulars, with the sames - win the room, with donks - win you.

I have mixed feelings about donks, when i win against them i love them, when they get lucky i hate them, and when i am one... Well, i guess that everyone plays like one sometimes. I do, many times. And i dont care what others think about it, after all i m playing with my money.

Donks are also the narcissistic poker player who thinks they can outplay the table by just raising. When people stop folding and pushing back they cave in like a futon bed. Everyones a donk at times unless you win every tourney.We all make that donk play from time to time.

This reminds me of a story from the late Barry Tanenbaum's "Advanced Limit Hold 'em Strategy." Tanenbaum was playing one day when a friend approached him saying that the biggest fish ever, playing in another game, was making plays that made no sense. Barry recognized the "fish" as a long time winning limit player.

Tanenbaum's point? Top players and bad ones often make moves that appear similar, but do them for very different reasons . . . with very different results.
