Get a feel for how the table is playing and how much of a bet it takes to be respected and then go from there. I did things like made pot building bets. Nobody would fold unless the bets were well over 3xBB, so when I'd hit a real monster ( I flopped a boat at one point ) I'd bet 2xBB, and with 6 people in the hand being strung along it was far more profitable than betting more and getting less callers. Nut flush draw? bet small, let the pot build etc.

Sounds dumb to say, but it was far easier to play the people and not the cards live as opposed to online.

A funny story: After I left the table, I went to see how my wife was doing at the carribbean stud table. She asked me how I did, and I replied " Oh my god, those people were such fish it was sad."
