even the best players were once learning the game and as far as this poker community is concerned I am sure that the advice given is genuine and constructive and given to share their love of the game
 
People that visit the forum to read and learn about the game rather than just to fish for freeroll passwords are like usually looking to improve their game because they enjoy it but dont understand some aspect that isn't working in their own game
 
I think most the guys that give the advice remember back to when they themselves were learning
 
I don't think it is about competition I think they really want to pass on their experience 
 
I have played in forum events against members who usually play at stakes where single pots are dozens (probably hundreds) of times the buy in for that event. The payouts for those tournaments must be insignificant for those individuals yet they play anyway.
