Hellmuth misspeak?

I don't know if any one catches this but I think that Hellmuth misspeaks and accidently tells Mike Baxter that he is bluffing at 2:12 when he says "and I'm tough to read because I talk with my big hands too" If he would of said "and I'm tough to read because I talk with big hands and when bluffing" it would of been different

But when he says Oh I also talk with big hands its like he's announcing I'm bluffing.

Yeah, i agree with you here. Even though he has every right to be ****y, sometimes phil hellmuth can be too ****y and that can cost him.

I also agree it was a tell. (not to mention, at least during the TV hands I've seen him play, he doesn't do any talking while in a hand) Not only that I think he looks and acts a bit sheepish during the entire hand. His posture doesn't look strong and he doesn't have his hands clasped tight and pressed to his face the way he normally does.

This is why you don't talk at the table. You might inadvertently screw up and say the wrong thing without even realizing it.

He could have taken "too" to mean "I add talk to my big hands" or "I talk with my big hands and no hand" (ie; meaning "I have no hand").

I don't think he was certain at first what Phil meant. But then, Mr. Big mouth had to say he was going to bet small on the river, so he hung around to see. And once he did not bet small on the river, I think the meaning was clear: "I have no hand at all".

Sad, as if you noticed, Phil knew exactly what hand the guy had; J-10.

I saw Daniel Negreanu make the same mistake once, only the other guy did not catch on. He was holding KK, and DG puts out a re-raise on the river, and then says to the guy "I put you on Aces or Kings"; had the guy just thought about that, why on earth would DG give him a chance to save some chips and escape the call? What, he does not want to win and stack up? He is such a nice guy, he is going to help you save some chips. LMAO. What on earth on that board would DG call a 5x raise preflop with? Q9? Really? It just didn't add up.

But the guy got scared and folded. DG got real lucky there. I seriously doubt a better player would have folded KK to that BS talk.

Well, raising 5x preflop does kind of say "big pair". I don't think you need to be Nostradamus to realize that, especially if it's a weak player doing it. I don't know, I never heard of the guy. But man, if only he would have thought it through.

Probably DN would not have said it to a better player, maybe?

I wonder if DN was pulling the ol' reverse, reverse play of I got you on two kings opponent thinks "why would he say that if he had two kings beat? unless he wants me to think two kings aren't beat by saying that so I will call" *folds* lol damn psychology, damn the meta game, and damn the levels. It hurts my head =o
