I don't think he was certain at first what Phil meant. But then, Mr. Big mouth had to say he was going to bet small on the river, so he hung around to see. And once he did not bet small on the river, I think the meaning was clear: "I have no hand at all".

Sad, as if you noticed, Phil knew exactly what hand the guy had; J-10.

I saw Daniel Negreanu make the same mistake once, only the other guy did not catch on. He was holding KK, and DG puts out a re-raise on the river, and then says to the guy "I put you on Aces or Kings"; had the guy just thought about that, [I]why on earth would DG give him a chance to save some chips and escape the call?[/I] What, he [I]does not[/I] want to win and stack up? He is such a nice guy, he is going to help you save some chips. LMAO. What on earth on that board would DG call a 5x raise preflop with? Q9? Really? It just didn't add up.

But the guy got scared and folded. DG got real lucky there. I seriously doubt a better player would have folded KK to that BS talk.
