I 3bet AA in LP  against an UTG raiser that is a call station that likes play and chase a  lot of draw hands.  The flop is KJ2 rainbow and I shove my 2.5K stack  into about about 1.5K.  UTG snap calls with AQs, blank turn, and hits a  10 on the river.

We get conversations like this:

Player: That was a bad shove there.

Me: Why? I got him to snap call with a gutshot and 1 over for almost 80% of his stack.

Player: But he hit his straight.

Me: That doesn't matter. I got his chips when I was a huge favorite.

Player: You lost all your chips, though.

Me: Yeah, he hit is 4 outer. Oh, well. I'd do the same thing in the same situation against him.

Player:  I would've just checked the turn and river and see what comes out.  I  already have a lot of chips in and the pot is big, so I dont want to  risk anymore. If a 9, 10, Q, A comes out, Im ready to fold.  If not, I  bet it and I take the pot.

Me: You're losing so much value,  though. Shoving here allows me to win 2 ways: either I take the pot down  or he calls me with a weak hand and I double up over 80% of the time.  By checking, I can only win the pot if he doesn't hit but I lose out on  the additional 2.5K because he's folding to any bet on a missed draw.

Player:  Yeah, but you also have to consider that he gets really lucky and he  hits his draws a lot.  I factor in who the lucky players are and I never  go all in against them.

Me: Oh.

Of course, here I am, a player that has busted from a tournament, trying to explain why my play is profitable in that situation.
