Hot Seats

In a lot of poker rooms and on a lot of sites I hear people talking about hot seats. In poker rooms, I have seen people refuse to leave a chair or just quit playing when their table closes because they have a "hot seat." Do you guys believe in hot seats?

Only fishes believe such nonsense, regulars will be able to make money at any seats..

For me it is very stupid,but i think there is a lot people who belive in hot seat.

Silliness. It doesn't negate the fact that someone can be running hot, but it has nothing to do with the seat itself. I bet those believe in it also would be those that are superstitious.

I do not believe because it seems silly.

A hot seat is when you are catching a run of cards that are unbelievably good, and if you get up and leave, the next person to take the seat will also run unbelievably good. So, the thought is that it is the seat that is hot, no matter the player. People believe in cold seats as well, I remember one day I was moved from one table to another at a live tournament and upon arriving I was told how every player would had sat in that seat had taken a really bad beat to end their tournament (and sure enough I did too). So, I guess the real question is: do you think because enough people believe in such things that it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy?

I have never heard the term before... Just replace 'Hot' with 'Lucky' and then you realize how absurd the notion is...

Sitting in any seat gives you an equal chance just as long as you have your Rabbit's foot with you...

This is like the part of SS where Doyle says he usually plays the next pot after he wins a pot because "rushes happen."
