As for the crazy people.  I agree with the one poster, if I can play against crazy people, I'm likely going to be much better playing normal players.

Along this journey, I've run across videos of many players.  One who stands out in my mind is Annie Duke.  I'd post a link but not sure if that acceptable here.  Search on youtube.   At one point she says she would rather play with the crazy people, much easier to take their money.

And her description of poker is "Making good decisions under conditions of uncertainty.  AND in poker, money is not the goal..  Money is simply the score.

So, learning how to make decisions is the goal.
