I don't know about elite but even becoming a winning long term player at online micro/low stakes who actually cashes money out(leaving some in for a bankroll) spends it and doesn't have to re-deposit is a lot more hard work and study then most people are willing to do and do at their day jobs. For the majority being a winning player is impossible because they can't do the following: manage a bankroll, have good mental toughness/tilt control and patience. Those 3-4 things the majority of the human race isn't capable of. Which means they can even beat 2nl or 5nl.

Sadly it's not gonna get any better or easier for future generations either considering how little useful things in real life schools actually teach now. People graduate high school and can't even do a basic tax form(they need software) or pay some money to do their taxes lol. Majority don't even know how debt, credit cards/interest works, can't/don't know how make a budget/stick to it and can't even balance their own chequebook. These type of people have ZERO chance of ever being long term winning players at any stake level.
