Dont worry about hiding tells, 90% of people cannot interpretet them correctly anyway. Instead learn to realise what your tells are, what others tells are. Pay attention to their body language when out of pots, when playing big hands, playing bad hands, when they are under pressure etc. What you are trying to do is establish a baseline relaxed behaviour and then apply the information to their non relaxed state. DO they tense up when they have a good hand, do they use reassuring gestures like crossing their arms and leaning forward when they are bluffing? Learn to recognise this behaviour in your self and begin to use it to your advantage. Dont worry too much about what others read, most will think they see a tell, react on it and be wrong. learn to use this to your advantage. I remember an old line in a book or a joke or something- about a player who wanted to set up a tell for a big hand later in the game. He began to place his lighter on his cards only when he had good hands, made a point of showing his hands if people folded. Every game he played he made sure to put his lighter down on his cards only if they were very good. This went on for weeks until he got a chance at a bluff. In a huge pot up against a very good player, he raises with junk, making the point to put his lighter on his cards, bets and raises to the end. Get his whole stack in and he calls him. Shocked he cannot see why his bluff failed. HE asks "how can you know I was bluffing, I had my lighter on my card, i only do that with the nuts" The pot winner replies "Really man? I didnt even realise you smoked" The moral is, make sure the players you play with are even able to notice your tells before worrying if you need to hide them.
