Studying stuff like ranges, pot sizes, and how much position actually matters is what really moves the needle. It’s the difference between guessing and actually knowing why you’re making a bet.

The other huge part is the mental side. If you don't have a bankroll set aside exclusively for the game, it’s almost impossible to stay cool when things go sour... and they will eventually, you should build immunity against defeats and sick coolers. Being able to stay calm during a bad beat/run is a skill in itself. It’s also what gives you the discipline to just fold when a nit or a really tight player starts playing back at you. Sometimes the best way to win a hand is to realize you’re beat and move on to the next one.
