I can think back in the 15th century when there was cards played at palaces like Henry VIII during the medieval times. I think it was first 5 card draws came before Texas Hold'em.

It is difficult to answer reliably, but there is widespread information on the Internet that this card game is at least 500 years old. Honestly, it is hard for me to even imagine.
