I think you will accept that you, in the main, have two ways to make cash playing poker.

[*]Play lower volume of higher stake games[/LIST]I suppose its quality v quantity? I don`t have time to play 8 hours a day, so I will need to play point 2 if I want to make big cash. Also, I suppose, u could play a mix of both but I doubt many do that.
 
So the main point DM is when do I move up.
 
I accept the point you make about playing better players, but I honestly feel that the fact I`m playing better players that are harder to outplay will be balanced by the fact u r more likely to get sucked out by players less experienced chasing runner runner and catching.
 
I have only been playing for a year, so I am not an authority on poker, but I have noticed now that the more experienced I get the more I get sucked out. I obviously make better decisions now, so the chances of me getting sucked out against going in not knowing I`m behind is massivley reduced.
