I am NOT a fan at all of allowing people to just take the cash and not go to the event. this ruins the experience for the people who have shown up. If you dont want that extra expense then play something else. I find it hard to believe that unless the payouts were really big this would be a global success in any way. the only reason the WSOP's was a success is because you already had to be in Nevada to play the online game to begin with...which makes you at worst a several hour drive to the Rio. I would have to be making 1000's to want to do this, otherwise it is just not worth it, and without the global success the buy in would have to be rather large. If you want a better way to equal out the chip size problem, try having it as a shoot-out to a final table. This way all chip sizes are the same at the final table no matter what. Now this I may get on board with. Either way its a new and kooky idea, so there will be interest because poker players get bored pretty easy, which is why Duck Flush and Super-Razz-Duecy exist in the first place.
