I skimmed through the bill and nothing jumped out at me to say that HEM or PT3 could or would be banned.

Relax buddy...notice I said it's what I believe will happen. It's just common sense. Just look at history and what happens after government regulation.
If the "great minds" of whoever ends up overseeing online gaming get together and think that certain software programs give people unfair advantages, then they probably will ban them, pretty simple. Just my opinion, nothing more.

They dont care if you have an advantage.The US just wants a piece of the pie. Right now they cant tax it ,cant tax something that is illeagal. If it does pass it will be banned in most states. I hope it does not pass then the US cant mess it all up.

I think if it happens, its just another adjustment we would have to make as players, and to the people who accept it, they will be made better by it, because actually developing more reads/notes would be more profitable instead of just looking at the little numbers.

I wouldnt hang myself if this happened, just go with the flow haha. i like playign w/o a hud sometimes, feels freeing

its like im a slaveeeeee to it.

wouldnt affect me at all..never used software....tried once but couldnt get it running...so whatever ..just get something done so we dont have to feel like criminals for playing a GAME.

I don't play with a HUD anyways.. but I don't care if anyone else plays with one, either.

I did a search for what you were talking about, and couldn't find anything. I did a search for "poker bill huds" and this thread was the second topic that came up, haha... most of the other links were to Oliver Hudson and Bill Hudson lol.

If they were going to ban PT3 and HEM, they would have to ban players using different golf clubs in golf, and different shoes in basketball, different bats/gloves in baseball. This is just stupid!

Edit: If you want PT3 and HEM to be banned on the basis of you are too cheap to buy it, you are also stupid.

Data-mining means getting information about hands you are not involved in.

Most poker rooms have a no data mining policy.

When people use a HUD they are not data-mining.

Data mining is when you use someone else's hand history.

So it looks like you have got the wrong end of the stick on this one, the bill does not suggest that HUDs would be banned.

I play 4 tables at a time and do fine without a hud. I am not saying that tracking devices cannot provide useful information. What i am saying is you are not necessarily a losing player because you don't use one.Poker is a game of situations and if you make good decisions you will be fine.Great players change how they play hands and you don't need a hud to beat weak players so i personally think they have limited value.Of course i have no experience using them so I cannot say without a doubt they could not help me in some way.

But Gilbraltar and the Isle of Man are not exactly third-world countries, are they? That's actually really simple. So they can advertise it to the millions of casual players in the U.S. who watch the national news and are scared to go to online poker sites b/c of the bad publicity they have received. Once they pull enough casual players (aka fish) the sharks will follow. Eventually, the other sites will follow as well, just to remain competitive.

Never gonna happen the way you describe it. The one reason they might move to the US is if a new law combines opening up to local rooms with increased restrictions on non-US rooms. That's the way Italy did it, that's the way France and Belgium plan to do it, .... and it sucks big time.

Poker rooms are already spending millions to advertise in the US. They would not gain anything by being US based.
