In a cash game, I think the play is better overall, and people are not as loose as they tend to be in MTTs.

These are my opinions, and I'm not saying that they are true.
-One win in a MTT could make a losing player think that they are better than they really are because one win is often 20 losses in value or more.
-Cash games are harder in general.  They take much better post flop skills than a MTT.
-You often sit at the same table with players for much longer in a cash game than in a MTT.  When people have 100 hands on you, you can't do the same things and not expect someone to catch on.  In a MTT you might only sit with the same players for 50 or less hands.
-Losing players often lose more in the same time period playing cash games than tournaments.  I've had down swings of $50 in a cash game session of .10/.25 NL, and I'm a winning player (although no expert).  So I think losing $5 every time you play a MTT, and playing a 100, is often overlooked when you win every 50 times.
-SnGs in particular I find are extremely soft, a winning SnG player could be a losing Cash player.
-I think the cash games are often harder because more profit can be made hourly which attracts the better players.

Just some of the things I have personally noticed.
