In just under a week, I’ll be heading to Vegas to play four WSOP events: The Monster Stack, The Ladies Championship, a $1500 NL, and a $1000 NL! After Black Friday, I moved to a small coastal town in Mexico to play online. I play MTTSNGs (like 180-mans) and MTTs on PokerStars as "hotjenny314". Here’s a short video I made of myself 40-tabling. I’ve written a lot of blogs/articles about how much I enjoy living in Mexico, but getting back to the states for a little bit (first for a vacation in San Diego) is something I am super excited about. For one thing, there are way more shoe stores—which is certainly a bankroll leak of mine! For the past three years, I’ve played in the WSOP. Two years ago, I played a very full schedule. I had a 27th place finish in a WSOP prelim, took third for just under $25k in a Venetian DeepStack, and then had a blast making a pretty deep run in the WSOP main event—cashing in 451st for just under $25k. As I wrote about on my blog, my first day in that tournament was at a table with one of my poker heros: Dan Harrington. I had so much fun that I was still happy when I eventually busted all-in preflop with AA < TT! The change for my WSOP plans this year is that I am playing fewer events than normal. That is mainly because I love playing online so much, and I can play 1,000 tournaments in a week, so missing a month and a half of playing online has a price! That’s the reason that I’m not playing the Main Event this year, though if I happen to win one the preliminary events then I may just have to stick around! ;) In years past, I’ve sold my action and had about 30% for myself. What’s great about only playing a few events is that I’m not selling action. I have agreed to a few swaps, but I’ll have at least 90% of myself in all of these—which is very exciting to me! I’m so happy to be going to Vegas to play in these WSOP events, and I’ll be posting rail updates (as well as fun vacation posts) here for anyone kind enough to root for me! :) This week I’m having a blast in San Diego:
