Whether as a source of income or just for entertainment, does the growing number of Ukrainian players have anything to do with the conflict?

In my opinion, it probably has nothing to do with the war

every Ukrainian, from all over the world, is a victim of nightmares caused by Russian poison

I don't know, but recently there have been a lot of players from Ukraine because of the war or why I don't know, but the number of players in this country is very large. I hope they play to make money and they have no other goals, but it's good that there are a lot of poker players

I wouldn't like to say for sure but very possibly.

I do wonder if a proportion of them might be Russians using VPN too since they got banned.

We Don't have enough offline poker and tournaments, and it's really hard to live in country, where die people everyday. So sometimes we play poker as not to go crazy. Peace.

Yes, of course it is. Many people have lost their jobs and for this category of people poker is probably the only way to earn an income. Also many russian players play under Ukrainian VPN (on PokerStars), as they are banned for playing from Russian IP addresses.

True. The flag won't change that way and Im sure PS will allow any Ukrainian refugee to mantain their PS account and play in a foreign country. Should be no problem as long as its the global playerpool

Actually, I thought about that too.
Maybe it's a form of entertainment for them or they want a quick way to make money.

I am Ukrainian and I live in Ukraine. In my city, the air alarm sounds 3-4 times a day. From time to time, russian missiles fly into our houses and kill civilians. But to be honest, I'm already used to this situation. War is scary, but a person gets used to everything, even war. Unfortunately, I was not accepted into the army because of my health, three years ago I had a heart attack. For me, poker is just a hobby that brings me extra income from time to time.
