No, unlike Rounders I did not get to play against a pro, but I did get to observe a few early Sunday morning (1 AM to 3 AM) at the Taj.

4 time wsop Bracelet winner Mickey Appleman was playing 200/400 Stud H/L and Omaha H/L. Those of you who have been to the Taj know that it's very easy to be a railbird for some of the bigger games in the room.

Behind Mickey at another table (presumably playing NL) was Nick Frangos. At one point he got upset at some hand and left the room, but then he came back a bit later.

Back to Mickey...saw him play a hand of Omaha H/L where he had the nut low to the river and spiked the case 3 to back into the 3's full of 8's and take 3/4's of the pot instead of just half. There was another player to Mickey's right who is a WPT player. His name escapes me, but he had $20,000 in chips on the table.

It's really amazing to see these guys bet $400 like we do with $4. But when you have millions, I guess $400 does feel like $4.

As for me I won $28 playing $1/$5 Stud, and $23 playing $2/$4 Limit. Nothing spectacular but alittle something to help easy the pain of getting killed at Craps at the House of Blues. lol

I also finished 13th out of 101 at the House of Blues $60+$15 Saturday Night Tourney. Just 3 shy of the money. I was in the BB for 6K with 10K left, button moved in and said he had a pocket pair. I see AcJc and I push. Button shows 22 and we're flipping coins. I don't improve. Oh well. First place payed $2100.

I am a little bit jealous of your trip to The Taj. I believe it is in Atlantic City if I am not mistaken. Anyhow your trip sounded great and I am glad to hear you were on the winning side of Poker down there. I wa also wondering if you have tried the poker at the House of Blues. I cant remember who I read it from, but The House of Blues supposedly has some easy money at the lowerlimit poker tables. Anyway sorry to hear you got put out near the bubble in the tourny, but 13th of 101 players is pretty good if you ask me.

Yes, JeeDub it's in AC. And you are right, the HOB has very dead money there. I probably would have played some 2/4 Limit there if I had busted from the tourney sooner. But after finishing on the bubble, I needed to get out of there and the Taj is right next door.
