Hi I've been playing a while online but this month I'm going to Westfield casino in Stratford for a live poker night might sound silly but feeling a bit nervous any advice?????

If you can control your emotions, everything will be fine. The advantage of playing live poker is that you can see the emotions of your opponents. And to make certain conclusions. Dont show youre nervous.

Look for tells and hide yours.

Dont try to calculate too long. Just estimate it. Smart ones can observe it easily and exploit the weakness.

Just stick to your game, play poker like you should play it, and just try to not let emotions show too much while playing. If you get too nervous, take a bathroom break and go outside and stroll for a bit. Once you got your cool back, go in and show em whos boss.

ATTENTION:
learn the rules of the game, no not the rules of NLH, but the rules of live poker. I see way too many newbies lose lots of chips due to errors they caused themselves, with no recourse.

remember - verbal is BINDING period, whatever you say you MUST do. do not string bet, chips in is an auto call even if you didnt know someone raised (in most places) or you surrender chips in and muck your hand, acting out of turn is binding unless action changes, exposing cards early may result in your hand being killed, and many more rules like these,

I've never played live but if you are truly worried my advice would be to wear some big dark glasses, and act/pretend like poker is the most boring thing you've ever done in you're life.

Don't put your chips in front of your cards if you aren't calling... A rookie player did this to me once, dealer announced the call and I flipped over my nut straight... the rookie player sees my cards and immediately flips out claiming he didn't actually call. Rookie threw such a tantrum that the floor got called and they actually gave him his chips back because he claimed he didn't call me and didn't know the rule... needless to say I immediately got up and left after that BS floor call.

enjoy it have a laugh and start watching people and their plays in 3/4 weeks you will know how they bet be a bit loose to give them a false sense of security

remebr they are watching you too...show a couple of losing bluffs to get them in the mood lol

when i first went to casino i had 230 euros and put my all money in. after several hours when the casino needed to be closed for some time i cashed out 1010 euros back and that was really a good amount of cash. but i played super tight aggressive. i played very patiently not to be blown by my nervousness. especially if you're not going to play a tournament, just be very cautious at cash tables. try to chat with people around you, observe them, don't play many big pots. after some time, you'll have a better idea on the table, people and the game which is played and then you just should have to bid your time!

at my second time, i won roughly 5000 dollars and i also played super tight aggressive. especially at low stakes like 2-4 or even 5-10, many people just like to gamble. so just don't spread your money at unnecessary times and only wait for a strong hand to play with against the players you observed for some time.

Best advice: Have fun.

Don't sweat it - you're not a Pro the first time or even the 20th time... Just make sure you aren't playing with money you can't afford to lose.
