Yes it is different from live play. For one you can see the people your playing against live and they can see you. I look for betting patterns in players to exploit when playing online poker. Live poker is very different from online poker since in live poker you have to avoid showing your emotions which is not necessary in online poker since your opponents cannot see your reactions when you see your hand, but the strategies and values of your hands are the same

Online and live games are different of course. Being in the casino with other players on the table and having real cards and chips is definitely more interesting than clicking buttons on computer screen but online poker also have some advantages like being much cheaper to play and being able to play from anywhere as long as you have internet and pc or mobile device. Key for online game is to try to stay focused on the game. When you are in real casino you do not have anything else to do so that you are partially forced to look what is going on at the table which is good for your game. When you play online it is much easier to be distracted by other people who live with you or to decide to minimize the poker client and look at something more interesting instead while you wait for another hand. These are all factors that make your game worse. Key to overcome this is to mentally convince yourself that there is no difference if you play from casino or online - you are there to play your best game and focus entirely on it ignoring all distractions.

Never really played live poker.. as I'm a new at this amazing sport I don't think it's smart to take some crazy adventure on live poker, but I feel like I'd rather play only online for 1 reason though: you can grind as much as you want. Live poker generally doesn't give you this chance to play lots of hands as online poker does
