YES, within reason, anyone can win a big pool multi-table tourney. I think it is safe to say that you NEED some luck to win a big tournament. Take the main event throughout the years we have watched people win who are not considered very good poker players.

Where SKILL absolutely shows up, is in a player's long term results. This is in both Cash and Tourney poker. The better you are the more you will win in the long run. If you don't believe you need skill, go play on-line $5/$10 NL1000 for a few thousand hands and report back with your winrate (smile) Even zoom $500 is populated by very skillful players.

In my opinion this is what makes poker so great, you can get lucky and win an MTT, you can have a great time playing at your local casino for a $100 tourney. Then if the poker "bug" grabs you, you can begin to study and work on your skill and your on your way to either a hobby or a career or a once in awhile break from the everyday. Poker can be many things to many different players and yes, there is a skill level.
