In all respect, poker is a way to feed a man's ego. There is no denying this. Just look at the arrogance of any great player. Stu Ungar had mentioned multiple times that no player in the world could beat him. Poker gives a sense of dominance over another player. Hold 'em is the game where my two cards are better than yours. Betting with only two cards alone is the most arrogant way to gamble. Like I've said, a woman choosing not to gamble is never a bad idea. More players lose than win, and I'm sure a boneheaded ego alone is enough to make a player sign up for a tournament. I'm not saying women don't have egos or can't be competitive. I'm just mentioning my thoughts. As a man, I think it has everything to do with the male ego. Everyone wants to be the alpha player. Poker is a way of saying, "I have more testosterone than you!" A tournament is the last man standing. Poker attracts more men than women, so I'm just mentioning why I think that is.
