Now a few years later I get started playing on line poker. This last winter I downloaded fulltilt and started playing freerolls and stuff like that, not depositing any real money. My wife seen me playing and thought it looked like fun, so she started playing also. I told a couple buddys about it and they started playing too, we had the start time of all the freerolls memorized, lol. I wanted to be a better poker player than I was a few years ago, so if I wasn't playing, I would be reading something on it or watching videos. When we got our income tax money back, (and times are harder for us now than they was a few years ago), me and the wife was going to take a mini vacation and go to the casino boat about an hour and a half from us and spend the night. Then I came up with the idea to put the $100 that would would probably blow apiece on line and play poker with it. Unfortunately they didn't have poker at out casino, so the wife thought it sounded like a good idea. So we deposited our money and so did my two buddys. I told everybody how we HAVE to stick to proper bank roll management and really study the game. So I never played cash games higher than 5 cent 10 cent and only once entered a tournament for more than $3.30, which was a $5.50 game and I cashed $34.50 in that. Well the percentage of suck outs at these levels is just god aweful, but I keep reading all the stuff about how it happens, but you will get them back if you stay patient. My bankroll would go down to $50 and then back up over $100, and so on. My cash game was better than my tournament game, but I got my tournament game much better and even won a 2700 person freeroll, was still playing a few of those. Then a week or so ago I was playing and the suck outs were still coming. I would have a player pinned on their two cards and they would still call and suck out. The first two or three times it didn't really bother me. The fourth time I'm thinking how many times can this happen in one night. I'm thinking I am making great reads tonight, so I need to keep playing. After the sixth time of being sucked out on I tilted and it had knocked me down to about $17 in my bankroll. I went to two cash tables with what I had left and I was tilting bad. I can even remember one poor soul calling me a donk that I took some money from and I went off on him. Telling him how I had been sucked out on by donks all night and how much I had lost, so now I am going to start playing like them. He said he understood, said he was sorry and so did I for going off on him. Needless to say I didn't change my play and yes lost the rest of my bankroll. My buddy still has me come over to his house and help him play because I get such good reads and we are winning money on his bankroll. I don't know if some of you would think that is not being fair, but I usually just sit back and watch the game and when there is something I think he should do, then I say it. My whole point is, when I deposit again, I don't think I will try to grind out the micro stakes, I had much better luck at the higher stakes and I feel like I am a much better poker player now than then. You don't seem to have near as many people call with bottom pair hoping to catch a third one on the river and then catching it like you do in the micro stakes. [/QUOTE]
