It works in poker for sure, and if that resonates for you in cards then you owe it to yourself to borrow a single speed for a long ride sometime after you get used to riding again. Fixed gears are the zen of bikes. Don't be daunted by a long ride to the cottage. Cycling is amazingly fun and you might just get addicted to it. I am.
