Nerves at Live Tables

Hi,

So I have been lately not sure why but, having nerves on my first big pot win at a live table. After about 5 hands I seem fine for the rest of the game. However before I never had this issue. Anyone have any ideas how to deal with this ?

Besides anti-anxiety medication, well, knowing you have the best hand, or knowing you have you're opponent beat. Other than that, I've got nothing! Happens to me too all the time...

Anti-anxiety meds will help as will more time spent on the table.

I think most poker players with a heart beat have had their moments of anxiety in big pots .

it happens to a lot of players including me if i don't play live for a while, the more you do it the more comfy you get like anything else.

I tend to shake... like badly... when I get good hands at live tables. The best think I found to do is to breathe regularly and try not to hyperventilate. Regular breathing will calm the rest of you and this may sound stupid, but try to get a mantra to think about as your playing.

I never played live poker before. But just be yourself and play the game. And remember it's only a game.

It comes with experience. Play a lot of live poker and it should help you get better with your nerves over time.

Ya I am starting to notice in the past few days its only happening when I win 3x my buyin of 200 for a pot but after that it doesn't matter how large the pot is. However today tried a few naproxin and went and won big with no shake or anything weird I know but it worked

hopefully the nerves vanish cause it can be a big tell.

I sometimes shake badly too but for me it just seems to last only 10-15 minutes every time I start a session or a tournament and then it goes away. I have thought about trying beta blockers but it hasn't effected my game enough for me to try

This use to happen when I would play out of my limits. If you have proper bankroll management going on then it shouldn't bother you much. Losing a buy-in is just something that will always happen. Now if you only have a $100 BR and put it all on a cash table you should be nervous. lol

I am going to play tomorrow in a live tournament for the first time at a casino. I have played online for some time now and hope that I don't get nervous.

I chickened out. I did go to the casino but I was so nervous about playing at a live table. At the casino I usually play Mississipi Stud or Four Card Poker where I am playing against the dealer only.

I'm always nervous and even shaking when I'm sitting at a table all the time, and I think sometimes it favors my game because by my nerves the rivals that do not know me think that I'm always lying or that my game is weak and I know how to take advantage of myself Those situations

All the nervousness goes away with practice, Dana situatsyi though I am against alcohol, but it is possible before the game to drink 50 grams of cognac.

If you aren't able to control yourself! Then it is better for you to change hobby! It is necessary to behave adequately, especially if you play with living people!
