Kaplan, whom most probably expected to be a huge nit in this game, raises Dwan's straddle with 96s. Dwan 3-bets with 32s, Kaplan calls.

Flop is A73r, Kaplan has no piece no draw. Dwan bets $14k, Kaplan raises to $38k, Dwan calls. Turn A. Check-check. This is the key card, because

River: 2

Dwan checks, Kaplan bets $50k, Dwan tanks, says, "That's such a weird line" and begrudgingly folds.

I think against another player Dwan might have called, but not being familiar with Kaplan, and knowing he's an old-school player, he gave him credit for checking an A on the turn -- most modern Internet players will play their big hands fast in that spot because they're betting all their air, too, I think.
