What's up with the min re-raise? Not only you're going to get called 100% of the time, you'll be playing out of position for the entire hand. The flop was perfect, and the likelihood of your opponent hitting it somehow is very high. He can have any 2 pair, a pair and a straight draw, maybe even a set of 10's or jacks or a flush draw. Why not build a pot right now? You re-raised preflop, even though a horrible amount, and you should be in control of the hand. Bet here and hope he gives you action. If he doesn't, oh well, there's always next time. Plus there's a flush draw on the table, you don't want to give a free card that will either leave you drawing dead or kill your action when you have him beat. If you checked, you should usually be check-raising for the same reasons, though you'll usually be given more respect. You were lucky he had KJ and was going to stack here pretty much no matter what, but if a spade or 4 to a straight comes on turn you're losing your customer. With $500 I say move down in limits until you have a better grasp of the game. Trust me, anyone can have a good day and make a few buy-ins in just a few hundred hands, but it never lasts forever and variance will turn it's back on you soon.
