Lets say that I knew that one day in every 25 (on average) there would be no new post created on this forum. Now lets say that the bookies offered me 28/1 that there would be no new threads created tomorrow. I'd take the bet. Doesn't matter whether I win the bet or lose really. If [B]EVERY[/B] bet I make has the odds in my favour, then I [B]WILL [/B]win in the long run. Poker is pretty much the same. Of course, the difficulty with other forms of gambling is knowing when the odds are in your favour - with poker (so long as you have a reasonable grasp of the concept of maths, odds, and implied odds) it's much easier.
