What billionaire Andy Beal did was to play a game so large that it took established, name pros out of their comfort level. When you play within your bankroll, money doesn't really affect you. When you make a loss equivalent to severe financial pain, your decisions will be affected, period.

I made a rookie mistake early in my online career and it was a fold made strictly on payouts, not what I would consider (now) to be good play, even with ICM considerations.

This was back when the big PS game was the 500K gtd (before it became the millions) and I found myself with 19 players left, literally weeks after I had been on Stars, having deposited < $200 (I sattied in). 19th paid about 2.3K and 18th paid 3.8K, a huge difference. The exact scenario I cannot accurately recall, but I found myself folding JJ pre with about 15-20 BBs, all because I wanted that pay jump. I wasn't playing for the win ... I was playing for the increased cash amt.
