I read a very interesting article the other day where players were arguing about whether the "November 9" was a good idea or not. Personally, I don't like it. I know what they are trying to do: advertise it - make money, give players chance to bring their family & friends, hype it up as to bring new players to the game and put poker in the mainstream highlight of sports by having it on the biggest sports network on television. But I don't think it is very good for some of the players that make the final table. Take JC Tran for example, he had chip lead and a ton of momentum going into the final table back in July and then when he got to the November 9 he was pretty much card dead and lost half his stack making opens with hands like Q4 off. My suggestion would be to have the players that make the final table, vote on it. As I know there are varying views on this topic, it would be better of to let the players decide for themselves. Majority wins voting obviously. Of course if they voted to play it out, they could make a 'day 9' of the main event where it is just the final table the next day. Still gives players a little rest as I know it can take several hours to actually get to the final table. What do you guys think? Does the "November 9" need to go?
