[QUOTE="feitr, post: 962780, member: 34106"] It is the same with pretty much everybody i'd imagine. The process is basically as follows: -you start out with a goal, typically that goal is to make money. Everybody would love to say the goal is to play well, but playing like shit and ending up +$$ probably beats owning the game and ending up 5 BIs down most ppl would agree. -You don't want to leave until you have fulfilled that goal. Hence the reason it is so hard to stop when stuck...nobody wants to leave thinking about the money they have lost and how it was such a waste of time to play. Personally when i get stuck a fair bit i tend to redefine my "goal" to just getting unstuck and in the vast majority of cases i stop soon after getting unstuck. Either that, or i eventually realise that it just isn't working and i have other stuff to do and i quit...but that always leaves me, at least, with a bit of a sick feeling in my stomach. It would be easily solved if you could just redefine your goal in poker to play a good solid session to the best of your ability and not worry about the $$/results, but obv that is incredibly hard to do. What i do now is to limit the times i play to times where i know i will have a decent block of time and i don't have something important to do afterwards (sometimes fail but that is the goal) so that if i do get stuck i'm not in the situation where i really should be doing something else but i don't want to stop playing and then i just start to lose all sorts of concentration because i am half focusing on poker and half focusing on teh facxt that i should be doing somethign else with this time.
