Omaha playing hands like 5678, 67910 ect pre flop

How should I play these hands pre? Should I re raise aces? Should I ever smooth call? Cash game this is. Please tips I suck at Omaha

It is position dependent.Never raise anything from UTG SB or BB pre-flop.

AA is not as strong as in NLHE.

With 5678 be careful even if you hit someone holding xx9-10 has you beat.

I just blew off a buy-in with 3 aces on a paired board to an opponent holding A-2 on an AAx2x board. It's a tricky game,I should have folded when the board paired and he raised me.

play and get it in

have a smallish buy in,and reraise,stick it all in,small in my case is around 3 dollar i usually win with 2 pair,or they fold,takes a bit of time and effort though to do many 3 dollar tables

Izaak the variance is huge in omaha.

Yesterday lost 3 buy-ins underfull/overfull house and twice with an inferior straight on each occasion my opponent was loose and I was ahead up untill the river.

The lesson here is even though you get it all in and are confident of winning, you are playing 6 different combinations any of which could be ahead of what you think is a dominant hand.

You have to see it coming, or else you suffer as I did.On the full house hand I lost a big stack built up over an hour of careful play.

You can raise from UTG with some hands, suited rundowns, suited broadways etc.
AA is still strong. If you can get 50% of your stack in pre, you can shove any flop and it's +ev.

AA still needs to have cards working together at least one suited and a face to go with other wise you are banking on an over pair, A falls on flop great but what about a cooridinated board? Ah7h8c type? You have the nuts now so how do you proceed? Heads up you are in good position but drawing hands want multiway pots your villians have like 20 outs 5', 6's, 9's, T's, and hearts are all set killers, where as you have 7 outs to improve only nullifying one of theirs (the 8h). You have to take this hand down now, can you drive them off their draw?

As for the coordinated straight draws, see flop as cheap as possible and then it's simple hit or dump. you are looking to hit at least 2 under cards (both below your top 2 cards) to play this. 46X on your 5678 hand I don't care for the second 679T hand because it's a gut shot needing the 8 otherwise it's only a 345 draw. Straight drawing hands are better with the low card being a one offer 579T vs. 789J where QJT9 dominates.

It depends on who you are up against and position.

This is completely wrong, you can raise hands from any position, you just need to know what you are doing

Lets not be nits here. We can play second nut hands, its not really a problem but like holdem everything is relative.

Ok again you lost but there is variance in poker, again, lets not be nits about it. If you are ahead of range bet, simple as that. Dont worry about next card till it hits.

Yes we are betting but we dont have to drive them off their hand. When they hit we lose little, when they dont hit we win big. In this situation we can control the pot depending on turn and river cards. We are still betting but im not afraid if ppl call.

Rundowns down to 7654 are premium hands. A surprising fact is that a lot of middle/low, double-suited rundowns are going to play better in multiway raised pots than stuff like AKQJ or hands with pairs. If you don't include hands like this in your 3-betting range I wouldn't 3-bet at all.

I stopped thinking about things like "omg I have to fold the second nuts here" and just think in terms of equity vs. a range on all streets.

Marginal,can you explain for a relative nubie equity vs. a range, in PLO.

To me as opposed to NHLE range in PLO can be so broad, I have difficulty putting players on a range of hands in PLO.

Depends on who you are playing and the board etc.

But in as broad as I know how, certain ppl bet draws/ big draws in PLO, other do not. Based on your stats, we can decide how we want to play them based on this. Depending on how they bet, and that basic information above, we can decide where we are at in a hand.

i am not really big into omaha, i have played it a few times, i dont mind it but some of the hands ppl call with is just ridiculus and gets me mad, i rather stick with hold em, but if i wanted to continue to play omaha, u have any advice to recommend to me to be a better player at the game. ty

My best advice and most simple advice to get started in Omaha is to not have tunnel vision on your own hand. Omaha is big on draws, always be aware of what can beat you. Sometimes you have to fold strong hands. Study your opponents, see which ones chase lower value draws. Who is calling with bottom two pair. I think you need to pay attention more in Omaha. Don't be watching CSI and eating cheese doodles.
