So for those who say females don't go deep in tourneys because they don't have the drive to do so like men, or because they don't play as well as men, I say you are ignorant. With the ratio of female players being 1 to every 10 male players: ([URL]http://www.pokerplayernewspaper.com/viewarticle.php?id=3109[/URL] ) it is unlikely to have many women going deep in tournaments. I think most people would agree that it is normally aggression that gets a player deep in a major event such as the wsop main event. I don't know how to realistically break those numbers down to account for various styles of play and experienced vs inexperienced but I'd be willing to bet the sample size would shrink considerably in finding an experienced, aggressive female player. With that said, [B]yes you will see fewer females going deep in tourneys due to sheer numbers, not lack of drive or inability to play as well as males.[/B] **On a side note to tie in one of the many misconceptions about female players I'll give you an example on how this has helped me earn $$ from the men I play with (which also shows an advantage females have playing males). Last fall I got into a conversation with some men at the casino I play at. It was a cash table and one of the guys had just shown a big bluff to his opponent. I made a comment about a big bluff I had pulled off on a tourist and several regulars said they didn't believe me. I told them it was true and they all said I don't bluff. I told them once again that I do bluff from time to time, and they wouldn't believe me. I then back-tracked on my previous statement, smiled big :D , and told them they were right, I don't bluff, but one day would like to learn how :D . (Silly female me, tried to pull a fast one on the guys to get more calls, shame, shame :cool: ). Since that conversation, I have increased my bluffing from about 8% of the time to 40% of the time! Let me say that again: I now bluff at the cash table about 40% of the time during live play. I get away with it about 38% of the time! It's unreal! The rare occassion I do get called on the river I will pout, make some statement that I had read in some poker book that you should bet your draws, that I didn't really like this concept and wouldn't be doing it anymore, throw my hand away (by this time the male player will usually have shown his winning hand, and look a little sad at taking the pot from a female who is just trying to learn to play like the guys and I'll have mucked my hand without them ever seeing it) and then do it again with success because they believe I have the nutz. So for some of the misconceptions some of you men have, I thank you, and my wallet thanks you. :) I have more stories of how women take advantages of men's misconceptions, I also have stories of how men have belittled and demeaned women at the tables. I won't bore you with them (unless you need specific examples to make a point), I just hope if you have a female player at your table, you treat her with the same respect or disrepect that you treat the male opponents.
