yeah, I used to have the telly on whilst playing mtts/sngs etc, but I now have just the radio on, and I feel I play much better, and concentrate more on my game. Also, dont read/reply to emails etc, or browse the net, as that can be distracting too.
Live is so much better, I focus on each hand, whether Im in it or not, and make mental notes on all the players, and mentally tag them fish/shark/rock etc, so when I play them I remember how they play.
good luck steve

I definitely agree and I usually call more hands online than live which gets me in trouble! I think for me its because for live games its better because we actually see the person compared to online where you can only count on betting patterns and such. Its hard to be patient and disciplined online sometimes! I hope there comes a time when online poker becomes a Skype poker or something like that where you can everyones face! Also that you cant play without it! Haha that would be so awesome and will feel like you are playing live!

It varies for me. There are times when I'm far more disciplined and patient than at other times. Since I haven't been able to identify a clear single cause, it's probably due to various combinations of reasons / factors.

For me, being patient is one of the most important issues of the game, Sometimes I have it , sometimes I don't. my win/loss amounts reflects this also. I don't play much live so I can't make comparison there. Take care

Online I'm a super donk and play almost any two cards if I know i can limp.
Online I bluff 4/6 times and usually win at least 2/4 of those pots lol .

Live I play suuuuuuuuuuuper tight unless I am in a good position or know I can outplay whoever is in the pot. if my cards are running I play more hands than I probably should but ohhhh well.

I feel like sometimes I have great patience and discipline... But i still have some things to learn. As you can see in my thread i just posted over in tournament poker.

I try to just keep calm and think about everything that is going on before i make my decision.

Not gonna lie though.. i do have my moments where i should probably just turn the computer off and call it a night or at least take a good break. xD

i put food, drink, movies...music...cardschat...aside, with two monitor...to keep my patience...

I think I am too bad to be patient...and easily get boring by folding folding folding.
