How does he give the impression of all-in? He puts his fingers around but only picks up the two stacks. What would the ruling be in a typical casino?

he even said he was all in after patrick said I thought you were all in before the flop. Just the way he grabbed his chips, it looked like he was shoving.
Although Patrick should have waited another few seconds for the other guys chips to cross the line. That guy looks super shady to me.
Closest thing i had to that was I was in a tourney with a total goofball. He played cards because God told him they were going to win. I hit middle set on the flop, turned a boat and villian shoved. I was in such a hurry I snapped called him and forgot about another player who was supposed to act before me. I had already flipped over my cards and villian #2 laid down flush draw lol.

I don't think its the players fault 100% he was going all in he even reached back for the rest of his chips to put in the middle an he even said "I am all in" and " I don't care" if the flop doesn't bring the A or the K PA likes the ruling and the other guy is upset about it.

There really isn't anything to argue here. He didn't put all of his chips in at once and only said "I am all-in" after the first stacks went in. His intention may have been to go all-in, but he still can't string bet, period. If he had said he was all-in BEFORE putting any chips in, he could put the chips in however he wants.

I noticed that they both accepted the ruling when it was made and Patrick only started getting cross about it after he flopped the ace.
The ruling was the only one that could be made, as it would otherwise have been a string bet.
But if they disagreed with it they could have come to an agreement themselves to go all in blind before the flop, but they didn't.

It was a long time ago anyway.
It would have been more interesting without the over cards on the flop.

The ruling was 100% right. It's not about giving an impression of all in, because giving an impression means nothing. It would have been a string bet, because the player has to say all in before he puts any chips in, or push all your chips in at the same time.

he didn't announce a push
He grabbed two stacks and went back for the rest.

How can this be seen as anything else? The ruling has no bearing as to what his appeared intention was.

If don't say "all-in" before placing your chips passed the betting line, the only way to go all-in is to put your entire stack there at once. Period.

unless you speak out loud your intended action before putting any chips forward then they must all go in in one motion. You can't grab 2 stacks, put them in and say "im all in" and go back for more, the chips that go in are the bet, everything else is a string bet.

he didn't say all in, and didn't push all in at once...seems pretty clear to me. Even if he wanted too you can't let him because its a string bet, this time it worked in his favor.

that would be a call at any casino anyways, he clearly grabs two stacks ya he seems shady cause if he really wanted to go all in he would have announced it, but i don't think he was trying to be shady. He clearly grabs two stack and crosses the line therefore patrik is wrong. he never shuved all of them in and Antonius is not right here. YOU CLEARLY see him grab two stacks he never announces raise, he may said oh i meant to go all in after but that's not what happened now is it.

The ruling was correct. He didn't grab all of his chips, nor he said all in, so that was his bet. Antonius shouldn't have called, he should have waited, in fact, she said "string bet, that's the bet" before he said call.

There was a WPT final table (i think maybe heads up or down to three) where this guy was trying to bluff or bet big with nothing and announced a bet while grabbing a big stack stack but before the chips could go in the guy behind with a monster announced all in and the original raiser was allowed to simply min bet and dump his hand. Intentions are subjective. Bottom line is what is announced or what is bet in one fluid motion are what can be held accountable. Selbst prob felt like shit but cates should know better and lucked out. If patrick was so adamant about being all in he could have reraised... at that point he knew he was getting called and prob behind so he opted for a flop. Can't blame him but at the same time you can't bitch after the fact if you chose not to reraise realizing you were prob in a coinflip pre given info you shouldn't of had to begin with

Yes agreed, If Antonius was just sitting quiet ,He would push the rest of them in, But the fast "Call" Really scared him

Clear example of a string-bet. He needs to shove all stacks at once OR verbally declare. I personally use the verbal declaration.
