I played a tournament at A live casino this week. Early I caught a few hands, but nothing of note. I increased my chip stack steadily with no great leaps. There was A point where i was moved to A cold seat. I didn't play A hand for 45 mins. I won't say I wasn't tempted too, but they were terrible starting cards, so I hung in there with the blinds eating into my stack. Finally before the break I caught A few that got me back to where i was before. Then i was moved again and realized suddenly that there were only 3 tables left. this new seat was a good one , good starting hands that the board improved. (I hit A few big ones) Then we were at the final table. the other players were overly aggressive at the beginning and I pretty much stayed out of it. Finally I caught pocket kings, two raises in front of me and I limped just calling, for there could of been aces, but i didn't think so. A king came on the flop and 1 of the two went all in. It was a rainbow with no connectors to A straight at this point. I called and so did the other player behind me. The turn paired the 8 on the board and the river was a blank so my full house took it down, eliminating 2 leaving 3 of us. I let them play unless i caught a decent hand and sure enough another went out shortly. The one left was playing the aggressive overbettor every hand. so I kept folding, and giving him the blinds until I had A decent starter. He went all -in before the flop, I still was the chip leader so i called and he turned over 9 -4 os I had K-Q suited. flopped two pair, was ofcourse given the scare card on the turn it was A jack, so if the board rivers a 10 he has me, but that didn't happen and i ended up winning. the part that sticks out for me is the period where i didn't play A hand for 45 minutes. During that time I may have been sacrificing chips, but the payoff was all the eliminations during that period.
