Hardly. You do not build a bankroll of play chips to the tune of tens of millions (I have) without taking it seriously and thousands do. Some just love playing poker but do not want to add the stress of gambling real money to their lives. You have to be a little dull not to grasp that - yeah, millions play just as a hobby.

I do not frequently play with play money chips anymore but will do so  at times for practice and entertainment. I still like adding to that chip mountain, even if I am slowly building real bankrolls elsewhere.

And for what it's worth, recently listened to Kahle Burns (the top Australian Pro and a world class player) who noted how he started with play money...
