I don't get why big stacks do it too

SOmetimes as a big stack, I like to do it a little. Especially if there are any comparible sized stacks at my table. Timing out a bit keeps me playing fewer hands so I can sustain my big stack, instead of getting into situations where I'm calling small stack shoves with KJ hoping to bust them and break the bubble. If I lose the hand I end up doing the opposite of what I want. So sometimes I wait it out a bit before foldng or raising to give small stacks at other tables some time to bust. And even if they delay to hang on too, that's fine because next time the blinds go up they'll be in even worse shape. But if the structure has hand-for-hand as most do, this delaying tactic is just a waste of time for everybody.

The weird thing about this is sometimes because they got caught stealing so they might want to make it look like a hard lay down and try to win back some respect that they hand before from playing tight before changing gears. Just a thought :)

Its actually pretty affective. Ive seen it done alot and love it when all of a sudden they shove all in like they don't have As or Ks and want a call. Even better when they get beat.

Ahhhhh yes. I have seen players do this too. Most of the time when they get called they have something like Jack/6 offsuit or some other donkish hand such as low pair on the board.

It drives me nuts when people play slow but I guess its their privilege to do that and a lot are playing in multiple tourneys and use this for that probably they should have a limit and how many you can play in but the sites are in it to earn money so they dont care but they could lose some dues to this but on the other hand to reach the cash I think its ok but I dont do it just because I dont want people hollering at me lol.

If you are a short stack, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
